OK, one of my recent ‘admirers’ turned out to be also ‘admiring’ a friend of mine. And then I found out he’d ‘admired’ another woman I know. Right now, we got to about seven women that he ‘wooed’ on Twitter, using the same lines, too.
But, still, saves on the demi-wave (Reader: ask your mum).
Bibi: So, Alice, I was thinking about you in the shower this morning… As my beautiful ex, G, used to say: ‘Boys and girls…
Thinking about how lucky you are that you don’t have to date anymore. I, as we’ve established, am quite the eternal single woman, so have dated since 1901 ’til today.
SF Weekly recently did a Q&A with her which primarily focuses on her methods of matchmaking and what she is looking for in potential matches for this mystery client – but that’s not what I’m interested in talking to you about.
The very last question they asked her was: What’s your take on online matchmaking services and apps like Tinder and Ok Cupid? As she was asking me these questions, I was realizing that I had never thought of the answers in any detail before.( “I want a hot guy who is smart and successful and compassionate” just isn’t enough here. It’s actually just as difficult, if not more difficult, than trying to meet someone the old fashioned way. I’ve been dating someone for almost three months that I met online and I am convinced we are working out because when I met him, I knew exactly what I was looking for, could articulate it to him in a way that empowered me, and was in a happy, healthy place in my own life.
One of the most common questions we get asked by our clients and readers is why is dating so hard today.
And that’s if you even get asked to go out on a date in the first date.
Instead us girls get asked to “hang out” as if it’s clear what that’s supposed to mean.
Think about it, cavemen and cavewomen didn’t even think about their happiness.
They created a relationship in order to have babies and further our species.
